Perfect gift for valentines day
While looking for small handmade gift ideas for a Christmas gift exchange with friends, I decided to create something cute, meaningful, and quick to make. I wanted a small project that wouldn’t take much time, but that I knew they would truly love.
That’s how this amigurumi mini heart was born. This versatile design can be used in many different ways — as a keychain, a bag charm, a zipper pull, or even as a decorative accent for your space or makeup pouch.
I hope you enjoy making this mini project as much as my friends enjoyed receiving it. They started using it right away as bag charms and loved it. This mini heart also makes a perfect handmade gift for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.

Customizing the Pattern
This pattern is easy to customize to suit your personal style or the person you’re making it for.
- Color changes: Feel free to experiment with different color combinations.
- Yarn choice and size: Different types of yarn can change how your heart looks. For best results, I recommend using 100% cotton or a yarn that doesn’t pill and isn’t too thin. If you use a chunky or thicker yarn, including chenille, your heart will turn out bigger. That’s totally fine, just something to keep in mind.

Second Heart
To make the second heart of your amigurumi, repeat the same steps as before.
Join both hearts
- Once you have both hearts the same size, you’ll need to join them together. Place the two hearts one on top of the other and, starting from the middle, use slip stitches to join them.
- Once you’ve joined halfway around the heart, it’s time to stuff it with fyber filling. Make sure the filling reaches all the edges of the heart so it looks nice and fluffy.
Optional
To use your amigurumi as a keychain or a charm for your bag or phone, you’ll need a key ring to attach it to your heart.
